Christmas TV

If there's one thing that you can always expect on television it's that there will almost always be a seasonal episode of a show especially if it's a sitcom or if it's been on the air for a while. This is because it's an easy story to do, it associates the show with the good feeling we already associate with the season. However getting that special mix of whimsy and keeping the shows core identity is a hard task for even the most seasoned writers which is why most stick to what works and for that reason most of them don't really stand out but instead fade into our memories to be forgotten until the season comes around again. What I'm going to focus on in this post are 3 Christmas specials which I feel stand out from the crowd, ...

It's that time of year again folks when the season comes to an end...and the summer season begins! Yes that's right, gone are the days when we have to flick through the channels looking for whatever repeated show is on as there's always a new show on at some point in the year...even summer. But first let us mourn those shows that didn't make the cut this year and were unfortunately not renewed. 1. NBC's Community 2. NBC's The Michael J. Fox Show 3. NBC's Sean Saves the World 4. NBC's Ironside 5. NBC's Welcome to the Family 6. Fox's Almost Human 7. Fox's Dads 8. Fox's Enlisted 9. Fox's Surviving Jack 10. Fox's Rake 11. Fox's Raising Hope 12. The CW's Star Crossed 13. The CW's The Carrie Diaries 14. The CW's Nikita 15. The CW's The ...

In a moment of true fandom for a show I took part in my very first Google+ Hangout! It was a disastertriumph for me as I had absolutely no idea what I was doing and thought for some bizarre reason that Community stars; Danny, Alison or Jim would see my questions and answer them. Oh how wrong I was... So here are a few things I learnt from the experience. Ask questions everyone wants to know the answer to I noticed that there were dozens of questions before and during the session if not hundreds. As can be seen in the screen shot above there were 1300 people watching so the questions that got answered were the ones that got noticed as ones everyone wanted to know. These were also usually questions that were asked early which lead me into ...

Community Season 5

To those who have not caught up with the latest Community this is a warning that from this point onward you should probably stop reading if you don't want anything spoiled. If you're still reading that either means you have caught up with Community or don't care if it gets spoiled a little. Final warning! Small side note it should be noted that this is the second time I have had to write this after an accidental refresh after finishing. Let this be a lesson to all to save your work consistently. It's not as it was before "The greatest blog post in the world" no this is just a tribute. Lead up to and the start of Season 5 For those fellow super fans (who isn't one after watching Community?!) you will know that for a brief dark moment, ...

I did not expect to be sending out two posts within 24 hours but this is how it turned out. I couldn't resist sharing earlier today. I found out I had totally missed the director of Godzilla being from the town I live in! This was a great shock to me as you probably read. Moving on to this post (which was planned), I will be writing about two comedies that are unlike any that I have seen over the years (and believe me there have been a lot of comedies). Usually because of the amount of shows that I watch, which includes a number of dramas, I find myself needing either a break or a palate cleanser. I choose the latter usually which always comes in the form of a comedy. They're light, usually funny and don't require a ...
