Versus

The theme for March's Loot Crate was Versus which is supposed to celebrate some of the greatest rivalries ever from comics, television and movies. Honestly I found it a little lacking which was disappointing considering the last few crates. The crate itself featured the usual DIY aspect I've come to expect from my crates where you flip it inside out for it to work however the artwork did not blow me away. One side was a jungle landscape while the other was the inside of a spaceship. This was to go with one of the pieces of loot which was a vinyl Alien/Predator. I got Predator and while this went together with the style of the crate and the whole versus theme it just wasn't as great as it could have been. The magazine artwork however was top notch ...

TV Superheroes

Right now on TV we have quite a few superhero shows that are in play from both DC and Marvel origins as well as more original works like Powers (based on a comic of the same name) which broadcasts on Playstation. I came to this conclusion when I was watching the latest episode of Supergirl and Jimmy (James) Olsen non-scalantly let slip that Clark Kent was Superman to one of Supergirl's growing list of confidants that she entrusted her identity to (seriously her list grows every episode). If that wasn't bad enough later in the episode both Clark and Kara casually talk via an internet chat application about their heroics because that's super secure. I was unsurprisingly shocked by the level of stupidity by these heroes ...

True Detective Season 2

Both Orange is the New Black and True Detective decided today was a good day to release the trailers for their new seasons. OITNB enters it's third season on Netflix with a lot of changes coming to the women of Litchfield. Be the more things stay the more things stay the same. Having watched the trailer for the third season I can't decide whether I'm excited for it or not. Yes it's a well crafted trailer for the series and yes I most certainly will be watching it, however I've just not been overwhelmed by the trailer. Like the trailer so eloquently puts it in the ever so popular saying...sorry not sorry. Watch the trailer ...
