It's been a while since I wrote about a TV show, which is a little silly seeing as that's one of the main reasons I started doing this blog. In my defence I've been understandably side-tracked by other topics (I like stuff...sue me). So today I've decided to do a short post telling you about a show some of you might know about but most probably don't. I'm talking about Believe. What's it about At its core Believe is a heart-warming story about a very special little girl and an escaped convict. Okay when I put it like that it sounds a little odd but really this isn't that sort of show. The escaped convict and former Death Row inmate Tate (Jake McLaughlin) is actually protecting the little girl; Bo (Johnny Sequoyah) from an organisation than want to use ...

This is going to be part of a running series of reviews I will be doing as I throw cash at the internet to get cool stuff. I can't quite remember how I stumbled across Loot Crate but I believe in a night of geeky madness I signed up to not 1 but 2 mystery box style companies that catered to geeks. Loot Crate was one of them and the first to arrive. I have to say it was well worth the money. What are they Basically Loot Crates are a treasure trove of geeky goodness for those who choose to subscribe (Looters). For a very reasonable price subscribers get sent a mystery box full of 6-8 hand picked items that are secret until delivered. These items include gear, snacks, toys, hardware, art, and other goodies from emerging geek and ...

Taking the lead from my previous post on Beers & Ideas I've decided to write about HBO's new tech based satire which pokes fun at Silicon Valley. As it's Tuesday and I want to put something new out for bloghour I'm giving myself an hour to do this post so apologies if you find it a little short. On a slight side note; I'm not sure if it's a good or bad thing that the guys being made fun of are the same guys who got made fun of at school, took that humiliation and got rich making some awesome things that we can't live without. Who knows maybe they'll see the funny side? Or better yet they won't and they'll make even better stuff! I should say as I'm only taking an hour on this there will be spoilers ...

It's never too early to start planning your Halloween costume in my opinion. If you want something that is going to look awesome and not like an over priced piece of trash you got from the store you should always make your own even if it takes a year. I kind of fell in love with Halloween late in life through the many fancy dress opportunities at university and probably as a result of never having had Halloween as a kid in Barbados. However, now that I'm out of uni there are less opportunities to mess about creating costumes so I started going all out at my work Halloween costume competitions. My first year with the company I work at, I decided to do the Undead Nightmare zombie. This took 4-5 hours to do in the morning before work with ...

When growing up, like all normal kids I loved to read the newspaper. By the newspaper I actually mean the comic strips section. This section included things like The Phantom, Spiderman, Archie, Garfield, Zits, For better or Worse, Curtis and of course The Boondocks. Originally written and drawn by Aaron McGruder "The Boondocks" comic strip ran from 1996 to 2006 gaining popularity over the years. The controversial strip was a satirical view of African American culture and American politics as seen through the eyes of young, black radical Huey Freeman. The television & film rights for the strip were sold to Sony Pictures Entertainment and The Boondocks animated TV series premiered on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim in 2005. It's been going for 3 seasons so far (with years between seasons) and will have one final 4th season to ...
